Sarah Muller, PA-C serves HOPCo as the Executive Vice President of Quality and Clinical Care. She is responsible for executing programs and initiatives related to clinical care, quality assurance, process improvement, root cause analysis, risk assessment and patient safety.
She led, and contributed to, the development of The CORE Institute’s Quality Information Technology (QIT) system which captures adherence to protocols and procedures, reviews and reports on outcomes and deviation from evidenced-based protocols. The QIT system uses this knowledge to inform and to highlight trends and opportunities for the Quality Action Team.
Muller is an integral part of service line management initiatives with partnered hospitals. She establishes ongoing nursing education, monthly meetings with hospital leadership and the patient care team including the operating room, orthopedic inpatient units, pharmacy, rehabilitation and other important support areas to implement a dashboard of important metrics of success. Metrics include hospital quality outcomes, infection prevention, patient satisfaction, risk management and program performance from quality, financial and operational perspectives.
She works closely with participating physicians on the creation of clinical practices., ensuring providers are providing high quality care with proven outcomes at the lowest cost. Muller is a certified Physician Assistant who received her master’s degree from Western Michigan University and bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University.
