General Counsel
Danelle Kelling is HOPCo’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, leading all legal and regulatory matters across the enterprise, including corporate governance, compliance, healthcare regulatory law, managed care contracting, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and litigation. With more than 20 years of legal experience in both private practice and in-house roles, she brings deep expertise in structuring complex healthcare transactions, supporting risk management, provider alignment agreements, payor partnerships, and joint ventures with hospitals and health systems.
Before joining HOPCo, Kelling served in senior legal roles with American Medical Response and Rural/Metro Corporation, where she managed a broad range of corporate, regulatory, compliance, transactional, and real estate matters, including guiding Rural/Metro through its Chapter 11 bankruptcy and subsequent sale to Envision Healthcare. Earlier in her career, she practiced corporate and bankruptcy law in private practice, earning recognition as a Rising Star and inclusion in Best Lawyers in America.
Actively engaged in her community, Kelling has volunteered and served on boards with organizations such as the Arizona State Bar Bankruptcy Section, ASU Alumni Association, Rotary, Valley Leadership, Arizona High School Mock Trial, and Hospice of the Valley. She earned her Juris Doctor (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif) and BA in Political Science from Arizona State University.
