HOPCo Continues Its Growth as the Largest Fully Integrated
MSK Platform in the Country Through New Partnerships
and Value Creation
HOPCo continues its growth throughout multiple areas of outcomes management, musculoskeletal (MSK) care delivery, value-based care arrangements, and digital health expansion, further driving transformational change through meaningful alignment strategies and measurable value-creation for stakeholders. With the accelerated pace of planned integrations, program deployments, and a balance of both organic and acquired growth, 2024 is already positioned to highlight HOPCo’s continued leadership as the country’s largest MSK integrated value-based care and digitally enabled MSK organization, and one with a track record of comprehensive MSK market transformation.
Practice Partnership Growth and Market Transformation
HOPCo has continued its growth as the largest fully integrated MSK physician practice management platform with more than 800 MSK specialty providers under management across the U.S. Recent announcements of new physician practice partnerships have added more than 200 MSK specialty providers to its comprehensive practice management platform.
These announcements have included expansion in existing markets, such as Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan, as well as new markets, including Wisconsin and Connecticut. The continued growth has been driven by leading physician practices looking to leverage HOPCo’s fully integrated clinical operations, analytics platform, and proven growth infrastructure as a means to accelerate scalable expansion and value-based care delivery across their respective regions.
”We knew we would benefit from an experienced partner that could provide a proven infrastructure for continued growth and accelerated market transformation,” said Dr. Michael Brand, President of OrthoConnecticut, whose group of 48 MSK providers recently partnered with HOPCo.
“HOPCo’s infrastructure is helping additional well-known and elite physician practices lead further efforts in value-based care,” added Dr. Patrick Kane, CEO of Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center.
2024 will show continued practice platform growth across multiple new and existing markets, with several material partnership announcements already planned.
Proven MSK Value-Based Care Platform
HOPCo’s position as an innovator and the national leader in orthopedic value-based care was highlighted by its statewide, MSK-specific clinically integrated network (CIN) in Arizona, earning URAC Accreditation for Clinical Integration. URAC is the Gold Standard for Health Care Accreditation, and HOPCo’s CIN is the first MSK CIN in the U.S. and, with this prestigious distinction, becomes the only specialty-care URAC-Accredited CIN in the country.
“This accreditation reflects excellence in the areas of health information technology, care coordination and population health,” said URAC President and CEO, Shawn Griffin, MD.
HOPCo also acquired an existing MSK value-based care network across Florida, now referred to as HOPCo Network Solutions (HNS). More than 1,100 orthopedic, pain management, and podiatry providers, managing over 1.8 million fully insured MSK lives, are now part of HOPCo’s growing VBC platform.
HOPCo is known for developing and managing MSK-specific CINs and value-based care networks, which align orthopedic surgeons and MSK specialists across large regions around agreed-upon, evidence-based, best-practice clinical standards and are enabled by HOPCo’s advanced medical economics and detailed claims analytics infrastructure.
HOPCo’s CINs have empowered large groups of MSK specialists to uniquely engage in value-based care programs ranging from episodes of care savings through proven MSK population health programs. In Florida alone, more than 1,000 MSK-specialty physicians participate in HOPCo’s VBC programs across the state, engaging with multiple payors and representing the largest platform of its kind in the U.S.

Digital Health – Deploying MSK Value-Based Care at Scale
HOPCo’s unified digital health and patient engagement platform are delivering MSK value-based care across broad regions and populations at scale. HOPCo’s newly acquired and now integrated msk.ai platform uniquely incorporates patient engagement and multilingual education, outcomes tracking, enhanced real-time patient-provider communications, remote therapeutic monitoring, remote care management, and best-practice guided virtual care options in a user-friendly manner, resulting in superior patient adoption compared to other point-solutions. Combined, these attributes help maintain care within clinical parameters, alert care teams to clinical outliers and avoid unnecessary utilization and costs through streamlining care and unlocking value. For instance, msk.ai has become the preferred patient engagement program for leading NHS hospitals and trusts across the United Kingdom.
The recent acquisition of MyACTome integrates the only validated smartphone-based fall risk and frailty assessment platform, highlighting HOPCo’s focus on efforts that facilitate the avoidance of preventable costs and patient risk stratification. The technology leverages the existing motion sensors within a smartphone to assess patient balance, walking dynamics, and dynamic stability patterns to quantify patient biomechanical performance, frailty score, and fall risk – allowing risk stratification of patients. This represents a massive opportunity to improve patient safety while lowering avoidable injuries and musculoskeletal costs on a large scale.
Other applications continue to expand HOPCo’s digital health platform, unlocking additional MSK cost savings and value. Through its acquisition of MoonlightOrtho, HOPCo is incorporating “on-demand” or asynchronous video telecommunication into its patient engagement platform, thereby enabling patients to send video messages or ‘digital encounters’ to subspecialized MSK providers, highlighting areas of pain and symptoms. The platform allows patients to interact with expert MSK specialists at the most convenient time, ensuring they are quickly connected to the correct provider while helping to avoid unnecessary emergency room or urgent care visits.
Health System MSK Service Line Transformation
HOPCo announced additional partnerships with health systems across the U.S. to improve quality outcomes of MSK services, improve care coordination and unlock additional savings by streamlining care and avoiding unnecessary costs to MSK patient care.
South Florida-based academic medical center Memorial Healthcare System partnered with HOPCo to enhance MSK outcomes in service, quality, and efficiencies. Similar partnerships between HOPCo and health systems continue to grow across new and existing markets, including North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona and 30 additional markets across the U.S.

A Solid Foundation for Continued Growth
HOPCo is positioned for substantial growth in 2024. Its comprehensive, vertically integrated platform enables synergies across its proven physician practice management, digital health, health system partnerships and analytics-driven value-based care platforms. The unique alignment of stakeholders around validated best-practices, infrastructure and tools continues to improve efficiencies and meaningful savings across the total cost and full spectrum of MSK care.
